Chester County, PA– LeadingAge PA hosted a training session on ICD-10 Coding, the 10th revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD), a medical classification list by the World Health Organization (WHO). Phoebe Pharmacy sponsored this well-attended, day-long event which focused on the significant implications for the new Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) that begins October 1 of 2019.
Held on May 10th at Tel Hai Retirement Community in Chester County, the session was facilitated by Mary Ann Leonard, RHIA, CRM, RAC-CT, AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM Trainer/Ambassador, who discussed the ICD-10 requirements in the Coding Guidelines and Conventions, correct code assignments, general coding rules that apply to long-term care, and system specific rules for diagnoses frequently encountered in long-term care facilities.
