Allentown, PA – Phoebe is pleased to announce that Cynthia Richart, Executive Director of Pharmacy Services for Phoebe Pharmacy, is the sole recipient of the 2017 Healthcare Heroes Award in the Health Care Professional of the Year category.
The Healthcare Heroes awards, facilitated by Lehigh Valley Business, honors individuals and organizations that are making a significant impact on the quality of health care in the Greater Lehigh Valley. The professional of the year award recognizes a health care professional other than a doctor or nurse whose accomplishments have contributed to the advancement of healthcare in the region.
Richart was the sole staff member of Phoebe’s small internal pharmacy when it began almost 20 years ago. Now, Phoebe Pharmacy employs over 90 individuals in two pharmacy locations in Allentown and Lancaster County. Richart has grown Phoebe Pharmacy into a multi-million dollar operation. Phoebe Pharmacy currently serves thousands of long term care, personal care, behavioral health and independent living residents in 34 communities.
Richart’s quest for delivering exceptional patient care is clearly evident. Richart brought previously outsourced pharmacy couriers in-house to improve turn-around time so residents could receive their medications faster. Her dedication is paramount; though the Allentown pharmacy is fully staffed 24 hours a day, Richart still insists on being consulted at any time of the day or night to address imminent resident needs.
Richart and other awardees will be honored in a special supplement to the April 24 edition of Lehigh Valley Business.
